Off to Holland

My wife and I, along with my parents, are spending the next three weeks across the pond in the Netherlands (Holland). We’ll be visiting family, experiencing the Dutch culture, and eating salted licorice. My priorities being what they are, I may spend more time enjoying the sites than I do updating this site…and I’m not going [...]

Great (Free) Wallpaper Sites

There are several things for which I am very passionate. One of them is computer desktop wallpapers. Most PC’s and Macs these days are attached to a high-resolution monitor, and all laptops available for sale today are equipped with a widescreen monitor. Therefore, it saddens me to see so many people defiling their gorgeous displays with low resolution, stretched, or tacky images.

CS5 Countdown

Adobe has announced that they will soon be unleashing the beta version of CS5 in about 18 days! For the tech and design world, this is a big deal. Anyone who is anyone will be pirating buying a copy of Adobe’s latest and greatest once it arrives. CS5.org has been delivering unofficial, leaked and speculated [...]

Wallpaper: Miscalculation

Most people are familiar with the popular motivational posters that feature a cliche word or theme and a famous quote below a large, colourful photo on a black background. On the internet there are countless parodies on this theme. When I read a quote that said, “Shoot for the moon, and if you miss you’ll land [...]

Worldwide Exposure!

Living in the “Great White North” has its perks. For example, we can make snowmen 8 months of the year, our hockey team is the best, people are generally polite, and in the province of Alberta where I live, there are no rats (seriously). However, when it comes to certain tech services, we get stuck [...]

New Album: Outdoor Wedding Formals

At long last, I’ve found the opportunity to upload some of my favourite wedding formal shots. You can check out the entire gallery (and more) by visiting my photo gallery or clicking on one of the images below. 1

Wallpaper: Nissan Rogue

Due to some complicated circumstances during 2009, I came to be the temporary but proud owner of a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle had a smooth ride and respectable fuel milage…or kilometer-age since I’m Canadian. Compared to my previous ride – a 2007 GMC Sierra with all the bells and whistles including an after-market chick [...]

Wallpaper: KNVB

It’s amazing what a person finds when cleaning out their computer! A number of years ago, I created this wallpaper that features the logo of the Netherlands’ national soccer team, known as the KNVB (Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalbond). Good luck pronouncing that if you’re not Dutch. This find is quite timely as Stephanie (my wife) and [...]

Mac Tut: Installing Applications

This is a tutorial that I found whilst cleaning and organizing my documents folder. Yes, I just said “whilst,” and no, I’m not from Britain. I just enjoy sounding pretentious. Focus, Jonathan, focus. As I was saying, I found this document in the recesses of my computer. I had it posted on my last site [...]

Avatar: A Movie About Blue People

I realize it has been months since the movie premiered, but in my defence the film is still raking in a staggering amount every week! Interesting Factoid: Movie theatres make a bigger cut as time passes. Depending on the movie, they may net nothing from the actual ticket sales during the first week (don’t worry, [...]
